It's been probably the longest 2 weeks of my life. I should be used to him leaving by now. I went 5 months without him. After Trayton was born I find myself needing his help more than normal. It's nice to have those extra hands to either change a diaper, make a bottle, change clothes, or just hold him...or just play with Kayne so I can keep Trayton happy. I'm always talking to myself I find that it's just cause I need an adult conversation. That's not crazy..... Right? It's totally normal to talk to yourself.... So I hope. I picked this life and I know what comes with being a military wife/mom. So, I don't know why a short little TDY has got me all upset about him not being here. I need my best friend home.. Maybe it's cause during his deployment I could see his face until now we just have the phone to talk? I don't know. The boys miss their dad so much. Kayne always asks where Doug is. I tell him "Daddy is working". I'm thinking Kayne thinks I'm lying by the looks that he gives me now. Like, yeah right mom.... Daddy doesn't work this much. I know when he comes home. I'll keep reminding myself.... 8 MORE DAYS!! then 2 weeks of nothing but family time...

Until Next Time.
-T

My hands are full.

Things have been so crraazzzy here! Doug left for a TDY on the 10th so it's been me full time night and day. My dad flew in on the 10th as well which has been nice so have someone other then an almost 2 year old and a 6 month old to talk too. As any military mom knows one of you children or all will miss their daddy while he is gone. I thought it would be Kayne who would have the hardest time while Doug have been gone. Besides his terrible 2s... He have been great with Doug not being home. Trayton is the one who has had the most problems. Tray has always been such a great sleeper. Never had any problems getting him to sleep and stay asleep. He has been waking up and staying up. First, I thought it might be teething. 2nd, I thought it could be he didn't feel good... or third because his brother got sick in the middle of the night... None of those ended up being the reason. It just didn't want to be alone! He didn't want mommy to leave him or put him down. I noticed on the 4th night once his music stopped he was up. So, I thought maybe I'd make a longer cd to play over and over again. Worked like a charm. With a fan, and his music... He was good to go! Glad I found that out sooner rather then later. Cause I don't know how long I could go without sleep... Well, back to the craziness..

Playing Catch Up.

Well, a little bit about what's going on with us...

Douglas: He is still part of the United States Air Force. He went from working on the F22s at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska to working on F15s at Mt.Home AFB in Idaho. He is loving what he is doing. He works very long days but we are so proud of him each and every day. He is about to leave for a TDY for 3 weeks. It will be a long 3 weeks but we'll make it like we always do. After his TDY he will be up for a deployment this spring. We'll just wait and see what happens. He is still enjoying working on cars, riding snowmobiles, football (Giants...DUH) and being with family and friends.

Tara: As of right now, I'm still a stay at home mom. I wouldn't have it any other way. I enjoy watching my boys grow, and grow some more! I'm looking into what I'd like to do for future plans such as schooling but I'm still not to sure. My heart wants to do some many different things. I will find my true calling sooner or later. I have made some really good friends here in Mt.Home. Without them, I think I would have gone crazy months ago... They are so great, and our kids are all close together!

Kayne: He is about to be 2!!! I can't even believe it. I feel like we were just bring him home from the hospital. He still looooves cars, four-wheelers, planes, and snowmobiles (JUST liiiike daddy!) His talking is starting to pick up more and more. I wouldn't way I was ever so excited for him to start cause I can't get him to stop. Lol! EVER. Unless... He is sleeping and sometimes he doesn't even stop then. He has adjusted very well to being a big brother. He loves his "TT" so he calls Trayton.

Trayton: He just turned 6 months old. He loves smiling, giggling, rolling, and crawling! But, he really loves his mommy more. He is such a momma's boy! He has found his voice and isn't scared to use it. Trayton has completed our family so well. It would be hard to picture life without him around. Can't wait to watch him grow like his brother has.

If you wanna keep up with The Dutcher Family... check here for upcoming events, updates, and photos.
